Chula Vista Norte Street Party

This was our first street party in CVN, but surely not our last. It was a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon, around 25 degrees, and the view of the lake was spectacular. Everyone from the community attended and brought something towards our feast. It was a great opportunity to get together with our neighbors and get to know who is living in our community. Penny made an apple cake and a Mexican family brought fruit and meat turnovers, plenty of food for all. In one of the accompanying shots you can see a father (on guitar, who is actually a dentist) with his 4 children singing traditional Mexican songs. Listening to the serenade of the children’s voices and feeling the gentle breezes of the afternoon in this splendid environment, made it truly a time to savor and remember for a very long time.

We are finally settling in?

We are finally settling in to our rental unit. We have our telephone, our Internet, electric and gas hookup. We paid our first telephone and electric bill. The electric bill gets paid at our local grocery store with our weekly shopping. Telephone is a different story, since we have to line up at Telemex with everyone else to pay the bill. We are meeting with the architect almost on a weekly biases trying to agree on a price we can both live with. I emailed him a spreadsheet that he will be looking over tonight, prior to his meeting with us tomorrow afternoon.

We will be off to Guadalajara tomorrow morning. This will be our third attempt, except this time we are using the skills of our trusty guide and friend, Charlie. He will help steer us through the maze of roadways to get to our big shopping mall experience. Time will tell.

The shots accompanying this posting were just taken before supper today, one of our backyard and one of the view that we will finally see when we build our new home.
